Selected translation experience (for agencies and direct clients):
Medical/pharmaceutical translation: annual reports, summary of product characteristics (SPC), patient information leaflets (PIL), research protocols (urology, pharmaceuticals), pharmaceutical questionnaire responses, discharge summaries, medical reports for insurance purposes, academic articles. Several years' prior experience as a medical administrator (cardiology, nephrology, general paediatrics) in a university hospital.
A wide variety of texts in the field of humanitarian medicine and international development (including development economics) on subjects including human rights, aid programmes to disaster-stricken areas, HIV/AIDS, psychiatry and public health, general contracts.
In addition, I am a good amateur viola player and highly enthusiastic but incompetent pianist. I have played the viola a great deal in orchestras and chamber groups in Britain and France, and am thoroughly familiar with the idiom of both countries' musical worlds. I do the occasional music-related translation and am always delighted to receive more!
