Estas son algunas de las preguntas que se responderán en este curso que pretende ser una ayuda para los jóvenes que desean insertarse en el mundo laboral.

Consejos para insertarse en el mercado laboral: dónde buscar trabajo, capacitaciones y especializaciones, actividades indirectas útiles.

• Insertarse en el mercado laboral: aclaraciones preliminares.
• Definir el trabajo que nos gustaría realizar.
• Perfiles del traductor.
• Imagen profesional.
• Explorar el mercado para determinar qué ofrecer.
• Preparar el terreno para recibir pagos (cuentas bancarias, situación ante el fisco, legislación relativa a transferencias, etc.).
• Recibir pagos del extranjero: transferencias, Paypal, etc.
• Propósito de la presencia en Internet (Proz.com, Linkedin, Plaxo, etc.). Recomendaciones.
• Cómo ponerse en contacto con posibles clientes.
• Software para traductores, ¿es obligatorio?
• Cómo contabilizar (y cobrar) las repeticiones y coincidencias en las memorias de traducción.
• Las comunicaciones hoy: estar preparado para estar en constante e inmediata comunicación.
• ¿Qué hacer entretanto? Capacitaciones gratuitas, participación en foros y otras actividades sugeridas.
• La actitud es fundamental: pasión, acción...
Target audience
Traductores noveles que deseen insertarse laboralmente.
Learning objectives
En esta capacitación se busca ofrecerle al joven traductor una panorámica (resumida) de algunos aspectos de la vida profesional, para mostrarle los distintos caminos que se pueden seguir y que comience a pensar cuál es el que más le interesa en base a su propia personalidad.
Las opciones laborales son múltiples: desde el trabajo como traductor-empresario autónono hasta el traductor-empleado en una empresa y el traductor-colaborador de una agencia de traducción, pasando por la docencia. En esta capacitación se hablará de las ventajas y desventajas de cada una de ellas.
Las herramientas de traducción están muy difundidas. ¿Le servirán al joven para conseguir más trabajo? ¿Conviene invertir en ellas? Tras esta capacitación, el traductor podrá decidir si le convienen en base a su propio perfil.
Además, se ofrecerán consejos de actividades paralelas útiles durante la búsqueda de trabajo: participación en sitios, capacitaciones gratuitas, contacto con empresas.

Bio: Traductora de inglés y francés al español. Estudió Traducción e Interpretación en la Escuela de Idiomas Modernos de la Universidad Central de Venezuela. Trabajó en la agencia de noticias United Press Internacional, con sede en Caracas, Venezuela, como editora-traductora de las noticias a distribuir al mercado de habla hispana.
En Buenos Aires fue colaboradora del diario Clarín, donde realizó traducciones para sus diversas secciones; en este diario argentino, destaca la traducción de 187 documentos relacionados con el gobierno de Isabel Martínez de Perón y los primeros meses de la dictadura militar en Argentina divulgados por el gobierno de Estados Unidos.
Desde hace 20 años se ha desempeñado ininterrumpidamente como traductora independiente con diversos clientes internacionales.

He escrito mi respuesta dos veces pero no logro que se vea el texto.
Te comentaba que vi tu correo electrónico luego de terminado el seminario. Como dice Helen, envía la información de inscripción al curso y pago al Support Center para que investiguen qué pasó. Lo raro es que tu nombre no figura entre la lista de interesados ni de asistentes, por lo tanto en el Support Center harán lo que corresponda.
