The Argentine labour tribunal has sentenced a telemarketing company to pay an employee 50,000 pesos in compensation for requiring her to interpret in four languages at once.

In its ruling the court invoked the intense nervous strain of sustained intellectual work. The resulting damage to the interpreter’s health was attributed to poor organisation and management.
