Description
India is rich in languages, boasting not only the indigenous sprouting of Dravidian and Indo-Aryan tongues, but of the absorption of Middle-Eastern and European influences as well. Distinct, often ancient, and rich literary traditions are to be found in several languages, among them main are Telugu, Bengali, Marathi, HINDI, Tamil, Kannada and Urdu and Sanskrit and not to mention that today HINDI is one of the major widely spoken (4th rank globally) languages and world's great classical languages.
HINDI
Hindi (हिन्दी), in the Devanagari script, is the federal official language of India and an Indo-European language spoken mainly in North and Central India. Though the other tongues are endorsed as co-official by the central government. It is the mother tongue of 22% of the people, though it is said to be spoken well by about 40% of the population and understood sufficiently by perhaps an even greater number (almost 100% percent). It is worth mentioning that in the 1991 census, over 90 million people (about 11% of those asked) claimed that English was their first, second or third language.)
The prime idea to put-up a team at Proz, for Hindi language is to serve the non-Hindi speakers in a more better and elaborate way.

Balasubramaniam brings 20 years of experience in translation to his work. He has a Master's degree in Hindi from Delhi University, India and has specialized in IT and computer related translations. He holds a Master's degree in Computer Applications from IGNOU, India. In addition to translation, Balasubramaniam also does creative writing in English and Hindi and has published short stories, children's stories and feature articles in reputed Indian publications.
