I would like to be a part of the mentorship program, as I'm still relatively new, so I can learn more about the business side of translation for example:
providing quotes, rates, contracts, terms and conditions, invoicing, accounting, marketing, networking, resources, continuing development. I would like to share experiences, advice and ideas with a translator about various situations in the translation profession. I would like to be able to receive feedback from my mentor about various topics such as resume, cover letter and marketing strategies.

I will definitely ask questions, as I have many, I will share information, resources and anything I find that may be of interest to my mentor. I would respect their time and space. I am motivated, hardworking and determined to become a successful translator and therefore will approach this mentorship with a professional and serious attitude.

I would prefer, but welcome any language pair translators, Spanish to English Translators as I would appreciate help with improving my translation skills.

I have a bachelor's in Anthropology and I will be taking Graduate level courses in translation. I have lived in South America for almost 2 years (Peru and Argentina). I would also like to learn how to use CAT tools and tips and advice on how to grow in this field.

I have recently completed an MA in Technical and Specialised Translation at the University of Westminster, for which I have been awarded a Distinction. Given my lack of experience, however, I have since struggled to find work as an in-house translator, and am now looking into establishing myself as a freelance translator. Hello,
I've just found out about the ProZ Mentoring Programme and am looking for a suitable mentor. My language combinations are French/Spanish into English.
I graduated from the University of Manchester (UK) with an MA in Translation & Interpreting Studies in 2011 and have since been doing a lot of voluntary (unpaid) freelance translation and editing work. I'm looking to take the plunge and establish myself in the translation world now and need as much help as I can get!
I previously studied in Paris (France) for 3 years for my BA Hons in French Studies and am now living in Spain to broaden my cultural horizons and perfect my linguistic skills. I am mostly interested in EU, political and cultural texts however they are few and far between so I need some help finding my speciality. Previous translation projects have included EU institutional translation, ERASMUS and student life in Europe and human rights texts. My editing work has been primarily medical which I have been doing on a regular basis for a well-established medical journal.

I am looking for a English-Finnish mentor. I am starting out as a full-time freelance translator in the UK, and would appreciate advice on how to find clients with limited experience and how to market my services successfully. Any actual translation projects which I could add to my CV would be particularly useful. I have undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in English language and linguistics, and have also studied translation theory as part of my Master's degree, but did no have any previous experience of paid translation work when I started (so I have the usual no experience - no job - no experience problem).

I'm a qualified conference interpreter based in Brussels.

I am a newcomer to professional translation currently looking to gain some relevant (unpaid) work experience in French to English translation.

While I am new to professional translation, I am not without experience. I have a degree in International Business and Modern Languages (the language component of which was heavily translation based in the latter years) and have also worked in a predominantly French speaking job for the last 5 years (for Hilton hotels). I have an excellent academic record from school and university and strive to produce work of the highest standard in everything I do.
