Source text - English PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The SPA is a journey through different well-being gardens where plants can restore balance and harmony in the body and mind of visitors.
The sculpture of a supine woman in the centre of the garden will draw visitors into the concept of relaxation when in contact with plants. A permeable wavy line of bamboo canes divides the spaces and gives glimpses of the SPA's outdoor rooms.
Each garden is designed to provide a complete sensual experience. The aromatic plants of the sauna garden release their fragrances when the passage of the visitors activates the nebulizer: it will wrap them in a misty scent, delivering a sense of inner and outer well-being. In the next room raised 'beds' of chamomile will evoke the medieval practice of sitting and lying on chamomile seats to soothe the spirit.
In the dining garden visitors will be reminded of how many different plants are used in the kitchen and how it is possible to create a beautiful biodynamic vegetable garden: they will be shown how aromatic plants can not only be used for culinary purposes but also how they can be planted amongst vegetables to attract pollinating insects and to keep predatory insects at bay without the use of pesticides.
The massage garden has paths to guide visitors through rows of plants with different textures and scents: they will massage the visitors' legs and will soothe the spirit through the combined perceptions of sight, smell and touch.
In the last room, the perfume garden, people will be shown how beneficial oils and elixirs have been extracted for centuries from herbs and medicinal plants: a series of labelled colourful jars containing the oils will be displayed amongst the plants from which they have been obtained and visitors will have the opportunity to rub the plants and to smell their essence.
The journey through the SPA garden will educate visitors on the healing properties of plants and the relaxing beauty and tranquility of the garden will highlight the importance of plants in giving pleasure to our body and to our soul.
