English to French: Extract from Up from Slavery, autobiography of Booker T. Washington General field: Art/Literary
Source text - English I was born a slave on a plantation in Franklin County, Virginia. I am not quite sure of the exact place or exact date of my birth, but at any rate I suspect I must have been born somewhere and at some time. As nearly as I have been able to learn, I was born near a cross-roads post-office called Hale’s Ford, and the year was 1858 or 1859. I do not know the month or the day. The earliest impressions I can now recall are of the plantation and the slave quarters- the latter being the part of the plantation where the slaves had their cabins.

Bio
Hi everyone,
As a French native
speaker, I translate exclusively from English and Spanish into French.
I studied
translation for 5 years at the ESTRI in Lyon, France, and as part of my studies
I spent almost 2 years abroad (8 months in England and 1 year in Spain). I
graduated in January 2015 and worked at a translation company in Marseille, France for 2 years. I learned a lot by translating marketing
documents (lots of advertising campaigns, press releases, newsletters, etc.),
and documents related to luxury hotels and tourism.
After that
I volunteered at a NGO in Ecuador for 7 months, during which I kept
improving my level in both English and Spanish (most of the other volunteers
were from the United-States, while I was working with people from the community
we were living in, who spoke only Spanish).
I have been
working as a Freelance Translator for almost 4 years now and I work with many
different clients but the main ones are a company in the textile industry and a
client who works in developing e-training material for different types of
business.
I also work as a
French Copywriter for a company specialized in the conception of websites for
small and medium size businesses.
My rate is usually
of €0.07/word for translation and €10/page (about 300 words) for copywriting.
For further
information concerning my rate, my work experience or my education, do not
hesitate to consult my resume or to contact me directly!
I will be happy to
use my skills to help you translate your documents from English or Spanish into
French.
