I am a graduate (Civilekonom = B.Sc.(Econ)/MBA) of the Stockholm School of Economics and a former reserve officer.
I have the Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency, First Grade and KDS - Kleines Deutsches Sprachdiplom (so has wife Sylvia, see below).
I have run my own business for 27 years, 13 of them in Germany, having marketed Swedish products in 5 languages in Sweden, Germany and Europe for 30 years.
Returning to Sweden in 1996 I started translating professionally (deu/eng/fra/esl>swe).
Sylvia (17 years in Germany, where we met) gradually joined me on a part-time basis. Today she carries the major load and brilliantly too.
We work with MS Office 2010, Trados Freelance 7.0 (Sylvia only) and Studio 2009 (Mats newbie)

1996-2009 we had our office in the village of Träsk in the High Coast World Heritage area, 500 km north of Stockholm, where the air is clear, the lake water is drinkable (see NEW OFFICE: We have moved to Lessebo in SE Småland (Ryanair Smaland Airport-Düsseldorf Weeze) in South Sweden.
