Reply to Svetlana: Be careful about limiting it to "delivery", since both labor and delivery may be involved. My question about "complications of childbirth", however, is the opposite - it might be too broad, encompassing labor, delivery, and say, hemorrhage or infection afterwards. I don't know if the Russian encompasses the latter. Sorry, no time to research this now. Here's a definition, albeit related to dogs.
