This kind of translation takes twice as long as a regular one! Then you are forced to use your imagination to troubleshoot these "Chinglish" (Japlish in this case) words. Then, in the end, the client will still complain some translations were undue.
That's when translators become heroes!

You guys make me feel better. I believe the original document was in Japanese and it was translated by a noT-native speaker of Portuguese. So far, almost every important word that is repeated frequently is used in an odd way.

It seems the managers have decided to call some kind of internal procedure a "tabloide", because indeed it makes no sense here. However, they have the right to call something they invented however they want to. So, it there is no further explanation about this in the "Definitions" or "Glossary" section, I guess the only way to find out would indeed be to ask the client. Anyway, you'll likely have to devise a term as well for translation purposes.

This term doesn't make any sense at all in your context. It surely looks like some mistake. I would ask your client to double check the usage of this weird term and explain to you what they mean. After all we are translators. We don't get paid to read minds....right ? lol
