Alors que le gouvernement américain relance l'offensive contre les subventions publiques reçues par l'avionneur européen Airbus, le géant aéronautique américain Boeing ne compte pas ignorer les secrets du succès de son concurrent

I am still struggling with this one. Further to a earlier question I think ignorer in this context is closer to meconnaitre - so disregard is the better word, however there is a nuance of meaning here that is eluding me. (sorry about lack of accents folks - not deliberate!)

Given the 'alors que, at the beginning is 'ne compte pas ignorer' better understood as 'shouldn't plan on disregarding'
or

is 'won't be able to disregard' (the implication being they were expecting to because of the US government's filing a compaint about subsidies...) -

There is a subtle difference here but can anyone help me?

Explication :
If we think of the underlying meaning of 'compter' as being 'to reckon on', then perhaps it makes it easier to arrive at a solution like this.

Or indeed, for once, I think 'ignore' could actually be used here:

"is not about to ignore..."

Once again, Polyglot has judged the meaning correctly, I feel — I'm just offering some alternative ways of expressing it...
