Terme ou expression en français : petits pots de crème
Hi

This is a dessert on a menu. All it says is
"Petits pots de crème à découvrir"

I imagine the kind of thing you get these days with a "café gourmand," a miniature creamy dessert, just a couple of mouthfuls.

I think the idea is not to be specific as these are "à découvrir"!

For the mo' I have "Creamy spoonfuls... to be revealed" but "creamy spoonfuls" sounds daft to me!

How might I make a "petit pot de crème" sound like something you would want to try while keeping an air of mystery?

Many thanks!

Explication :
In the US, in high-end restaurants, we use pots de crème untranslated, and en plus, as these are to be discovered, it's that much more of an adventure...

Accord  juliebarba: I really like Miranda's assortment idea too - the 'à découvrir' is really naff in English. You don't see those little notes and additions on menus!

Accord  Carol Gullidge: I'd leave it as it is, along the lines of "petits pots de chocolat", which is never translated (plenty of egs in my EN recipe books!). It's very rich, so you don't need a lot, but I think "miniature" is an exaggeration. The little "pots" aren't that tiny

Accord  Colin Morley: I think I agree. These are also available with the same name pre-prepared from supermarkets and are one of my very favourite indulgences. My mouth is watering at the thought!

Accord  Mirra_: yes, '(little) pots of cream' is actually used but it seems to be (very very often) just an explanation for '(petits) pots de créme' :) yummi...

"Petits pots de crème" A discovery!

Explication :
Au lieu de "A discovery" on peut aussi mettre "A must".... une expression tres utilisee sur les menus.
