Archaeology / Les défenses du port ottoman d’Alger. (1530-1830)

I'm guessing maybe the terreplein forms a straight edge, and then the "ilôts" are some distance away from it. Doesn't your document come with a plan?

Asker: I have asked the Prof. for a plan but not received one yet. I just wonder whether it is simply horizontal filling. I have seen that 'Comblement de cavités' can be 'verticales, horizontales, ou en escalier'????
