I'm thinking that "strip is maltose dependent" refers to the problem of false interpretation of maltose as glucose by some types of glucose testing systems. Does anyone know for sure what this means?

How should I translate this into French (for a French-Canadian audience)?

Would "bandelettes sensibles à la maltose" be accurate/clear enough for someone with diabetis?
