Hello, I just now installed the latest version of Across but it won't work. When double-clicking the icon, I get the following error message: Across.exe - Application Error The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142). Click OK to close the application. My system is: - Windows 7 Ultimate Service Pack 1 - 64-bit Operating System I've tried to repair the installation, and the repair process then reported tha... My system is: - Windows 7 Ultimate Service Pack 1 - 64-bit Operating System I've tried to repair the installation, and the repair process then reported that the program had been repaired successfully, but the same problem remains: It won't start and it displays the error message mentioned above. What I can do? I have just now accepted an Across project so I need this to work somehow. Should I try installing an earlier version of Across instead? I followed your instructions and set the new settings you mentioned. Then I tried to run the Setup file anew, but it wouldn't run and said that it required a newer version of Windows. When I unchecked "Run this program in compatibility mode for" checkbox, the Setup file could run, but again, the resulting Across program won't run. Please try to open Registry Editor and search for this key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows] Double click on the LoadAppInit_DLLs value and change Value data to 0. LD | |

I only have the message that the setup has failed and a log file. So now I'm waiting for the help of their support. In my case - the fix was the following: A Search and Protect program which is resident (always on) was installed on my PC - I think it came when I was installing another application. Once uninstalled - the problem disappears - Across started with no other problems.
